A new case has surfaced involving 16-year-old Christian girl Yashf Noor from Faisalabad, whose family alleges she has been forcibly converted and married while still underage. According to the family, Yashf Noor went missing recently and was later reported to have converted and married. Her parents have strongly rejected the claim of voluntary conversion, stating that she is a minor under Pakistani law and cannot legally consent to marriage. The devastated family is appealing to authorities and human rights organizations for her recovery and for legal action.Child rights activists have reiterated that under the Child Marriage Restraint Act, the minimum legal age for marriage in Punjab is 16 for girls, and forced conversion is prohibited under the Constitution. They are urging law enforcement to investigate the matter transparently and ensure the girl’s safety and right to due process.The family and community members have launched a social media campaign with the hashtag #JusticeForYashfNoor, calling for strict implementation of laws protecting minors and religious minorities.Police officials have not yet issued an official statement. Investigations are reportedly underway.
Community leaders stressed that such cases cause deep pain and fear among minorities and called on the government to ensure justice and protection for all citizens, especially minor girls
