Pope Leo XIV’s Message of Hope, Faith, and Dialogue

Pope Leo XIV’s Message of Hope, Faith, and Dialogue

Rev.Fr.Khalid Rashid Assi

The Vatican City transformed into a symbol of spirituality, peace, and human unity on October 28 and 29, 2025, as thousands of pilgrims gathered to participate in events led by Pope Leo XIV. The congregation included world religious leaders, cardinals, bishops, and representatives of interfaith harmony. A 27-member delegation from Pakistan, led by Bishop Yousaf Sohan, attended the event and presented gifts. The delegation was privileged to sit close to the Pope.
The Pope’s first address on October 28, “Hope Unites Us,” focused on the biblical passage of Jesus Christ’s dialogue with the Samaritan woman (John 4:5-30). Pope Leo XIV emphasized that hope is the force that unites different religions, nations, and races into one family. He stressed the need for interfaith dialogue, mutual respect, and practical love in today’s world.
In his second address on October 29, “Spirituality and Service to Humanity,” Pope Leo XIV urged religious leaders to take their faith beyond places of worship and serve humanity. He emphasized that religion without service is mere ritual. The Pope appealed to religious leaders to be witnesses of God’s love and to work towards understanding each other’s wounds to bring peace to the world.
The Pakistani delegation, led by Bishop Youasf Sohan, presented a beautiful handmade carpet to Pope Leo XIV, symbolizing Pakistani culture and craftsmanship. Father Khalid Rashid said, “When the Pope touched the carpet, it felt like a spiritual connection touched our hearts. This moment was a blessing for all believers in Pakistan.”
The Pope’s addresses reflect the Vatican’s new strategy, focusing on dialogue, peace, and human community. He said, “Our world will be better when we revolve around serving each other rather than our own interests.” The two-day event was not just about speeches but about spiritual and humanitarian directions. The global gathering at the Vatican emphasized that hope, faith, and service are the pillars on which humanity’s future depends.
Pope Leo XIV’s words will remain a memorable message:
It is our collective responsibility to spread the light of God’s love to every corner of the world
