Punjab Government Announces Summer Vacations for All Schools

The Government of Punjab’s School Education Department has officially announced summer vacations for all public and private schools across the province. According to a notification issued on May 11, 2026, the holidays will begin from May 22, 2026, and continue until August 23, 2026.As per the notification, all educational institutions will reopen on Monday, August 24, 2026.
The decision was taken after the approval of the competent authority in view of the increasing temperature and severe weather conditions across Punjab. The notification was issued by Muddasir Riaz Malik, Secretary School Education Department Punjab.
The School Education Department has directed all Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities throughout Punjab to ensure strict implementation of the orders.Copies of the notification have also been sent to Deputy Commissioners, Directors of Public Instruction, Punjab Education Foundation, Punjab Daanish Schools Authority, and other concerned departments for necessary action.Parents, students, and teachers have welcomed the announcement, considering the intense summer heat affecting daily academic activities. The long vacation period is expected to provide relief to students and educational staff across the province.
