On International Civil Defence Day (March 1, 2026), its importance is highlighted as a reminder that robust systems, trained volunteers, and timely warning mechanisms are essential to tackle environmental hazards, rapid urbanization, and industrial accidents. In Punjab alone, over 312,000 volunteers are registered and receive training in first aid, firefighting, and emergency evacuation, strengthening community‑level resilience and preparedness.Celebrating this day acknowledges the dedication of civil‑defense personnel and encourages the public to adopt self‑protection measures and actively participate in disaster‑risk management, helping Pakistan move toward a safer, more sustainable future.
