Round‑Table Conference in Faisalabad Demands Justice for Jaranwala Tragedy and 18 Other Punjab Incidents

Faisalabad, November 11 2025 –
The Minority Rights Movement Pakistan organized a round‑table conference in Faisalabad today, focusing on the pursuit of justice for the Jaranwala tragedy (August 16 2023) and 18 other serious incidents that have occurred across Punjab.
The meeting was chaired by Lala Ruben Daniel and was attended by a broad cross‑section of religious, social and political figures, including Lala Robin Daniel, Semson Salamat (Lahore), Mr.James Lal, Peter Charles (Lahore), Abrar Sohtra, Abid Chand (Multan), Nadeem Cheida (Islamabad), Madam Shahin Anthony, Madam Tahira Anjum, Pastor Imran Sadiq, Ashkanaz Sahiwal, Dr. Shamaun Bhatti, Rana Sajjad Akbar, Shakeel Bhatti Zafar IqbalMalik SohailYousaf Adnan and several others.
Participants, together with scholars, human‑rights activists and political representatives from across Punjab, conducted a detailed review of the incidents and called for immediate legal action. The conference emphasized that the victims of the Jaranwala tragedy must receive not only justice but also that stronger legislation is required to prevent such events in the future.
Delegates urged the government to launch comprehensive investigations into all nineteen serious cases and to impose exemplary punishments on those responsible. The round‑table served as a platform to strengthen unity among different segments of society, echoing the spirit of past social movements.
At the conclusion of the conference, Lala Robin Daniel said, “We will continue to raise our voice until justice is achieved and will never accept any form of oppression.”
