Last night, the historic and ancient Durga Shiv Temple near Circuit House in Hyderabad, Sindh, celebrated the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great enthusiasm. A large number of members from the Hindu community gathered for the religious ceremony, which included a cake‑cutting event.
Among the distinguished guests were elected members of the Sindh Bar Council, including Advocate Mr. K. B. Ligari and Advocate Mr. Ayaz Hussain. Both guests attended the ceremony, cut the cake in honour of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and extended their congratulations to the temple’s leadership. The temple’s chairman and president, Bhagat Karam Chand, along with the management committee’s head, Maharaj Hamish,and Eng, Mukhi Mahesh Chand Chairman of Hindu Council welcomed the guests.
During the event, the two honored guests were honoured with traditional Sindhi attire (ajrak) and garlands of flowers. In their remarks, they emphasized that although religions may differ, the joys of faith are shared together, and communities should support each other in times of sorrow and happiness. They highlighted Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings of truth and righteousness.
The celebration was a testament to the spirit of inter‑community harmony and the rich cultural heritage of Sindh.
