Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed every year on 5th February in Pakistan to show complete unity, sympathy, and support for the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This important day reflects the strong bond between the people of Pakistan and the Kashmiri people and reminds the world that Pakistan stands firmly with Kashmir in their struggle for justice and freedom.
The main reason for celebrating Kashmir Solidarity Day is to remember the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, their long struggle for freedom, and their right to self-determination, as promised by the resolutions of the United Nations. For many decades, the people of Kashmir have been facing severe oppression, injustice, and continuous violations of basic human rights. Through this day, Pakistan raises its voice at national and international levels to highlight these injustices and to draw the attention of the global community toward the unresolved Kashmir issue.On this day, a public holiday is observed throughout Pakistan. Special programs are organized in schools, colleges, and universities. Rallies, seminars, conferences, and peaceful walks are held to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The national and private media play an important role by broadcasting special programs, documentaries, and discussions to educate people about the Kashmir issue. At 10:00 a.m., a one-minute silence is observed across the country to pay homage to the Kashmiri martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom.Kashmir Solidarity Day teaches us valuable lessons about justice, freedom, unity, and human dignity. Students, teachers, political leaders, social workers, and citizens from all walks of life actively participate in the day’s activities. Human chains are formed, banners are displayed, and slogans are raised to show unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause.In conclusion, Kashmir Solidarity Day is not only a day of remembrance but also a day of renewed commitment. It strengthens Pakistan’s resolve to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their legitimate right to freedom and self-determination.
